Their investment vehicle invests in public and private equities, primarily focused on the technology, energy, retail, transportation/logistics, travel and leisure, and big data. The team takes a multi-faceted approach to identifying new and defensible companies, with large addressable markets, that are leveraging technology in revolutionary ways to disrupt industries on a global basis.
Encore Capital Management is a diversified real estate investment and development firm utilizing its breadth of experience and expertise across a targeted range of investments including projects in multi-family, commercial and hospitality. Encore is a vertically integrated firm with land acquisition, entitlement, development, construction sales and marketing capabilities in-house.
Sandbridge Capital is a consumer sector focused private equity firm dedicated to investing and partnering with founders and management teams of leading global consumer brands. Our Leadership

William C. Powers 

William Powers is an investor, entrepreneur and philanthropist. In addition to leading The Strand Partners, Mr. Powers serves as Managing Principal and Investment Committee Member of Encore Capital Management, and is General Partner of Sandbridge Capital, a private equity investment team focused on the consumer sector. Mr. Powers is a Partner of Kairos Venture Partners, an investment firm focused on groundbreaking startups and research in life sciences, physical sciences, and technology. He is a Senior Advisor to JRK Multifamily Platform and Managing Director at Aspen Highland Partners, LLC, an investment partnership focused on Private Equity and Venture Capital. He previously spent over 19 years at PIMCO as Portfolio Manager and Managing Director, and as a member of the Investment and Executive Committees. Prior to that, he was Sr. Managing Director at Bear Stearns and a Mortgage Specialist at Salomon Brothers.

A graduate of St. Albans School in Washington, D.C., he served on the school’s Board of Governors, and at Princeton he was chosen to the All Ivy league team and made the naming gift for its football field. Mr. Powers received an AB in Economics from Princeton University ’79, and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business ’83.
